How do you tell a neighbor he can't use your phone. Without being disrespectful.?

In my building we have a neighbor who is about 60 years old. When we first moved in he'd ask my husband to fix his tv for him. Then he asked for a stick of butter, and then he started asking to use our phone. He has a bit of a gambling problem and his car got repossessed, and he asked my husband to drive him to go get his car from the impound. We are very generous and giving people, and don't mind doing favors, but its now gotten to the point where he asks to use our phone almost everyday. I have two small children who demand my attention, and he has even banged on our door and woke them up from their nap...just so he could ask to use the phone. He brought us a ham for easter (even though we don't really celebrate easter or even eat ham) and asked us to cook it for him, and just give him a plate of it. We did so because we felt bad that he didn't have anyone to celebrate with, but I just feel like we are being used. He has also borrowed money (30 bucks) from us, which he payed back about a month later. I have started not answering the door, but he will wait till my husband comes home to then ask to use the phone. He does not get along with his children, and we feel sorry for him and we even joke we adopted a senior citizen.... My question is.. How do I get him to stop asking us to use the phone without being rude or disrespectful? I have missed a couple important phone calls while he was borrowing it. I want to stop this behavior.

Oh man that is horrible. You are way more successful than I am. It took me 7 years to get through business school. My parents are way more supportive. It is the opposite. I am the one who knocks myself and they are the ones that say hang in there. All of your choices are great. Think you already are a success in getting any college degree. I was arrested for a DUI in December of 2010 and received no formal notice of my license being suspended, I am still going to court on this matter. A few months later I was driving my brothers car and I was pulled over for having tinted windows, the officer ran my license and told me it was suspended I was then cited for driving on a suspended license. The car was towed and impounded for 30 days. The case of driving on a suspended license is being dismissed because no one at the time of my arrest in December told me that my license was suspended or would be suspended. Now I had to pay 150 to the police dept. to get my brothers car out of the tow yard, and I now owe $1,255 to Hamner Towing Inc. Also my brother was left without a car for 30 days. Is there anything that can be done about this? Or am I stuck paying $1,255 to the tow yard?

I'm sort of a preppy goth... or a goth prep... ha idk. I dress preppy even though most of my friends are goth. If my research is correct, it is illegal to drive a homemade electric mini motorcycle on the street and sidewalks of Illinois without proper registration and insurance (which would be pretty hard to obtain). After we got it pulled to the side of the road, we started walking to meet up with the friend who the car belonged to. A cop came and told us where we were pulled over wasn't safe. Why is Steak 'n Shake so popular in the east coast?

I don't get it. I live in central florida, and I've been to several steak 'n shakes. Every one of them had mediocre to bad service. The waiters/waitresses wouldn't seat you for like 5 minutes or more even when there are booths/tables open. They are too busy running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Windows 7 User Login Lag?

So I just upgraded my 64-bit vista to windows 7, and everything works smoothly except for one thing. Logging into a user takes an average of 20 seconds just to show the desktop and then another 10 or 20 seconds to load everything. Now there's a similar problem on forums where this happens if you have solid color background but in my case I'm running an aero theme. The first time after I startup I log in its the regular 20 seconds, but if I log out and the back in its around 3 seconds which is normal logging in time. Please help its getting really annoying!

I was given a vehicle with expired registration after I got out of the hospital. I was not allowed back into the house either to get some of my belongings. The officers were wrong. They were picking on the camera guy and not the other people who were there. It's not against the law to record houses, people, or cops, which was the reason they gave. The camera guy did not have to follow a unlawful command. He also is not required to go to a media area if other citizens are allowed to roam about. Neighbors complaining about me riding my dirt bike?

Hi, I live on a mountain kind of outside of society and away from a city. I have a dirt bike and i have been riding it ever since i was 9 years old (17 now) and a few days ago i was riding and a neighbor came to complain about noise. She had a dog that kept biting my leg and was pissing me off so i told her to take her dogs and leave right now. I thought about it and decided i would ride less, so i was riding every other day, only for about 20-30 minutes a day at around 2pm. the next time i rode the girl's boyfriend or husband came down saying he would call the cops if i didn't stop. Is there anything he can actually do? i ride a rm125 so it is a 2 stroke and is a bit noisy but they are just renting out the house and we have lived here our whole life, also it is entirely on our PRIVATE property. Also i have a spark arrestor so there is no possible way for a fire starting. I don't ride on their property and its in the middle of the day and its summer so i don't see why i cant have my 20 minutes of fun like i have for 8 years now. The only thing i need to know is if i can get the bike impounded or if i can get a ticket or any sort of trouble, if so what can i do to not get in trouble, would i need to buy a muffler of some sort? thanks.

Can't pay for my impounded car bill?

I live in the state of Virginia and about 6 months ago I had a single car accident (lost control and got out of the road) and my car was impounded. I did not have the money to pay to get it out and the car was a total lost so I left it there. 6 months later I get a bill from a Collection Agency stating that I owe $2800 for the towing and storage fees. I can not pay that amount and I need to know if I don't pay the bill what will the consequences be...Will that be put on my credit report? Will it have any effects on my Drivers License? Will I be able to get tags from the DMV on the future? I appreciate the help.

So, I'm filling out a job application and it's the criminal history part. The question is: Have you been convicted of any other crimes (including, but not limited to: misdemeanors, criminal citations, and driving offenses) in the past 10 years? Do not answer "Yes" if your conviction record has been annulled, expunged, sealed, pardoned, erased or impounded. Well when I was 16 (4 years ago), I had my license for about a week when I accidentally scraped by another car while changing lanes. What happened to my Windows Experience Index? Windows Aero?

I am using a laptop with Windows 7. MY index was around 4.6-5. I don't remember which. Then suddenly one day. It went to 1! It says that my graphics is Desktop performance by Windows Aero. AND now a few things have changed. Like my internet and taskbar, I could see my wallpaper like through frosted glass, and when I moved my mouse onto something in my taskbar, a little window where I could preview it would be there, and yet now it isn't. Can I get my motorcycle back?

I bought two motorcycles as parts bikes from a guy out of state. One bike had a title and the other one didn't. So I took the good parts off of the bike without a title and put them on the frame of the bike that had a title. After months of working on the bike I finally got it running. I ran into a little snafu with the title though. The two previous people on the title never registered it. So after a little digging I tracked down the last owner who registered it and he went and got a new title for it and sent it to me. I did some more work on the bike and finally got it road worthy. So today I went down to get it licensed and when they run the VIN it comes back as stolen from 2009. So after months of work my motorcycle is sitting in a police impound lot. Is there any way to get the bike back? Also, why didn't the bike come back as stolen when the guy applied for the new title?

Do you feel as though you are treading water in life? I think that your car (mode of transportation) being towed may be indicative of a feeling of stagnation. Like you want to get somewhere in your life but you feel as though you haven't the tools or the ability to arrive there, so you are just wandering around trying to figure out what in your past you should have done differently. That would also explain why you feel as though you are still in grade 12 and in band. It is listed in their site. There were 4 models of the D510. The CMT is listed. Most were Intel P-4 processor equipped. A Intel 845 chipset. This may be a problem with Windows 7. I have a older Dell 4600 which contains a Intel 865 chipset. Windows 7 is not supported here. Intel has not and never will supply the drivers for it. You may be able to do a upgrade to Win 7 from XP. i was arrested for obstruction of justice for asking for a lawyer, the police lied in the report so i ended up taking a plea deal to drop the obstruction of justice and take an admittance to violating probation, also my car was towed and i was not in or near my car and the car was not used in any crime, the car is not even in my name, the police searched the car and towed the car, they ended up dropping the tow and impound fee and i got my car back free of charge with a sorry, with this info does it sound like a case to sue a police department even though in court i took a plea deal admitting to violating probation while they dropped the obstruction of justice as part of the deal.

September vacation, help!?

My Boyfriend, best friend and I were planning on going on a small vacation in September. Prob the 10-15 ish. Last night I got pulled over for a busted headlight. Next thing I know I am arrested and my car is going to the impound. I was booked and realeased. The government stole my motorcycle, how do I get it back?

I stopped riding my motorcycle for the winter and had it parked in the parking lot of my apartment complex. The owner approached me and said that it couldn't take up a spot all winter, but that he owned the empty lot across the street, and that I had his permission to park it there for as long as I needed. I agreed and parked it in a place that I could see from my apartment window. About three days later, I woke up one morning and my motorcycle was gone. Abandoned Vehicle - ?

Last September I traded in an old junker of a car for a brand new van at a regionally reputable/huge car dealership. Well, today I got notice that that vehicle is somehow still attached to me and that it has been impounded for abandonment. I called the lot to get it straightened out.. that's not the problem.. I'm just wondering why the dealership would have abandoned it? My friend just recently got pulled over with a suspended licence in a small town that I live in and there is one towing company and the cops told him that he has to pay the towing company $635 to get his car out $135 for the towing charge and $500 to pay the police department is this legal at all? I have never heard of this I have had my car impounded many times by cops and I only had to pay for the towing charge. It sounds like they are trying to rip him off.

We're in central Illinois she first noticed the bite on Saturday which looked like a mosquito bite. It was normal skin color and about the size of a peanut M & M. It was itchy. On Sunday the bump was gone and in its place was a large reddish rash with bruising. It is not painful to the touch and does not appear to have gotten bigger than on sunday although the bruising has gotten slightly more purplish in color there is no signs of puss or any type of fever. I rescued a baby squirrel (Rocco) out of my wall. He was about 2-3 months old. I never handled him. I kept him in a cage in the house until he was about 4 months old. He was treated like a famiIy pet. I released him in a tree in the front of my house about a month ago. We put his cage in the tree, he goes in it sometimes, but not for long. It's there if he wants to. I keep his water inside, and his food on top. I have been feeding, and watering him. He sits in the fork of a tree in the afternoon for feeding. I've got Windows 7 Ultimate. My mouse pointer is normally aero_arrow, but when I roll the wheel, it becomes erm.. well, i can't find it in C:\Windows\Cursors so I don't know what it's called, but it shouldn't change, right? I even changed the mouse properties, and it reverts whenever I do, but it still changes back to THAT pointer when I roll the mouse wheel. How do I fix this?
