Car impounded for 30 days, case dismissed but $1255 is still owed?

I was arrested for a DUI in December of 2010 and received no formal notice of my license being suspended, I am still going to court on this matter. A few months later I was driving my brothers car and I was pulled over for having tinted windows, the officer ran my license and told me it was suspended I was then cited for driving on a suspended license. The car was towed and impounded for 30 days. The case of driving on a suspended license is being dismissed because no one at the time of my arrest in December told me that my license was suspended or would be suspended. Now I had to pay 150 to the police dept. to get my brothers car out of the tow yard, and I now owe $1,255 to Hamner Towing Inc. Also my brother was left without a car for 30 days. Is there anything that can be done about this? Or am I stuck paying $1,255 to the tow yard?
