Fun things to do in New york city?

Going to the city with my girlfriend on the 2nd of july till the 5th, we plan on watching the fireworks and going to central park. Trying to find some fun things to do in the city, will be a 3 month anniversary too so I want to do something special. Any suggestions other then the statue of liberty and plays?
