Can you sue a police department for...?

i was arrested for obstruction of justice for asking for a lawyer, the police lied in the report so i ended up taking a plea deal to drop the obstruction of justice and take an admittance to violating probation, also my car was towed and i was not in or near my car and the car was not used in any crime, the car is not even in my name, the police searched the car and towed the car, they ended up dropping the tow and impound fee and i got my car back free of charge with a sorry, with this info does it sound like a case to sue a police department even though in court i took a plea deal admitting to violating probation while they dropped the obstruction of justice as part of the deal.
